Hilton Waikoloa Village - Would We Return?

The setting and the property itself are incredible. We've never experienced anything of this magnitude in our travels. It is a long walk or ride to the room, the restaurants are overpriced even by resort standards, but the employees are just as friendly as the other Hawaiians we've met.

The bar refrigerator in our room allowed us to import our own breakfast, as well as sushi and adult beverages from a nearby market for our evening enjoyment. We ate a reasonably priced (for Hawaii) lunch at a terrific Thai restaurant named Charley's. Not surprised to read reviews like these and these.
.
Would we return? Absolutely, if the price is right. In fact, rather than make the 5 1/2 hour drive around the island, we decided to relax and enjoy the property. There's always a next time and we've decided we'd like to see more of the Big Island.

We've spent a fair amount of time in the pool and just walking around the property. Tomorrow we fly back to the mainland, and overnight in L.A. before completing our flight to Vancouver the next morning. Next after that is a grandkid stop in Chilliwack, always the highlight of our travels.
