Not quite Déjà-vu as UA is operating ZRH-IAD today. We learned the flight is fully booked but not overbooked and we found our way to the Swiss Air Senator Lounge again, where we met the same nice woman at the front counter.
In a half hour or so we will wend our way over to the gate to undergo the inevitably less-than- pleasant screening that is a pre-requisite for U.S.-bound flights.
Our night in the Mövenpick annex was at least as, well, crummy as we'd feared. Despite throwing the windows open to let in the parking lot lights and the sound of tour buses arriving as late as 2:00 a.m., Kathy in particular found the stale cigarette smell - isn't it amazing how many otherwise health-conscious Swiss and other Europeans still smoke? - overpowering and didn't drop off to sleep until close to 4:00 a.m.
Oh well, at least now we can say we've stayed in a Mövenpick and we'll look back on last night as another little travel experience, once we've attained the perspective that a good night of sleep will enable.
It has indeed been a terrific trip overall. We have some more photos of our VIE airport tour to post, but that will have to wait until our return.
