Italian Gas / Petrol Prices

Our day was a leisurely one with a late start. We rode a bus back to Orte, our train destination on our trip from Rome, and strolled around the quiet part of town adjacent to the stazione / bus stop before returning to Soriano nel Cimino.

There are seemingly views everywhere here. As we await the bus in Soriano nel Cimino, we spot the little local train pulled into the stazione down the hill. One can ride that train to nearby towns, or even into Rome, if you want to turn a 45-minute ride into a two-hour-plus ride. Still, given the 40-minute bus ride between Orte and Soriano, we may consider it for our return trip to Rome.

We were also fascinated by a view across the gully, for want of a better word. What may appear below to be one massive apartment building is actually six or seven rows of houses climbing up the hill, with the castle peeking out above from the summit.

As we wandered by a gas station we snapped a photo of their sign...

Using XE.com to make the conversions, we calculate the price to be equivalent to Canadian $1.92 per liter, and U.S. $7.38 per U.S. gallon.
That's an even more compelling reason than the narrow roads and restricted parking to drive a small car here, isn't it?
