When we finally sailed by the Rock of Gibraltar last week on our third trip past it, this tune was running through Brian's head, the closing theme to the Sunday night documentary TV show of the late 50s and early 60s, The Twentieth Century.
Walter Cronkite narrated and the Prudential Insurance Company sponsored it. This explains why Brian had to take so many photos from our stateroom balcony as we passed by, trying to figure out which angle best duplicated the profile in that advertising icon, developed by the famous J. Walter Thompson ad agency in the late 1800s (even before it was Thompson).
Let's go back and compare our photos to these Prudential logos. Not bad...
