We enjoyed the relatively uncrowded train and somewhat clearer weather, allowing us to catch some glimpses of the ocean during the first part of the trip.
The train's wireless connection was working, and we could watch the progress of our trip on our netbook. The speed was regularly updated and topped out at 126 miles per hour.
Once we arrived at Kings Cross, we caught the Underground - the Tube - back to the airport, eventually ending up at the right hotel after going to the wrong one.
