We're spending a few minutes in the IAD United Club closest to our gate. Our 777 boards at 3:59 p.m. local time, and from there we hope it'll be an enjoyable eight or so hours until we land at BRU, not that much farther than LHR.
We'd actually prefer a longer flight in our flat-bed C seats, so as to have the chance to sleep for another one or two hours before landing at 7:15 a.m. local time. However, that's being picky.
We're hoping to shower before flying onward. Our research leads us to think the only lounge with showers is before immigration, so with our boarding passes printed and directions on the iPod we'll give it a try.
Our short flight JFK-IAD on a CRJ was perfectly fine, with less than an hour in the air. The friendly young flight attendant managed a complete beverage service, which is certainly to her credit.
Next stop Brussels, followed by Munich, Venice, and the Molino Hilton Stucky.
