All aboard on the Shosholoza Meyl Premier Classe train. Up to the moment, everything has exceeded our expectations. The lounge, while overcrowded, was a decent place to wait with coffee, tea or water available.
Our bags were tagged and brought to our compartment very efficiently.
William, the train manager, met with everybody in the lounge car to introduce himself and the train staff, while we sipped a sweet glass of "champagne."
The views leaving Capetown were as unexciting as those of most major cities, but now we're into more open countryside. The wind is howling outside but we're cozy in our compartment and enjoying the experience.
The restaurant manager just dropped by to confirm our dining times and fixed menu items.
We're feeling quite pampered at the moment.
