Lunch on the Shosholoza Meyl Premier Classe train is a step or two above Amtrak. The soup is piping hot, the courses are served individually, and the table lines reflect a rustic gentility. The arrangement, four-top booths on one side of the aisle and two-tops on the other, provide us with a private dining experience. The Cabernet Sauvignon, at about $13 the most expensive wine on the menu, complements our lunch quite nicely, as do the mountain views.
A little nap is in order before High Tea is served at 4:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.
