Soup, a fish course (Brian: "What is that?" Server: "It's fish, sir."), lamb and three vegetables, a lovely pudding with vanilla sauce for dessert, cheese and biscuits. These courses are served at the table from platters. Even though it differs in some ways, it reminds Brian of the 1954 cross-country two-nation train trip he took with his mother, grandmother, and brother.
We chatted with various people - train travel is a shared experience and most folks will offer a cheery "hello" at the very least - and had ourselves a great evening.
