Artsy Philadelphia
We ended up devoting the time we had available to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Now we'll have to return to Philly to see the Barnes, the Rodin, and more of the magnificent collection in the big museum.
As we entered, we chuckled at the tourists getting their photos taken of the "Rocky" that is now thankfully positioned off to one side rather than the top of the entry steps.

The Play's the Thing
Shakespeare might have written that line, but don't bother going to London if you want to attend a performance in the oldest continuous playhouse in the English-speaking world.
Go to the Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre, where we enjoyed Noel Coward's Private Lives today from the tip-top last row of the balcony.
Philadelphia Doubletree
We arrived here shortly after 11:00 and aren't surprised our room isn't ready.
It's too cool to hang around outside so We asked if we could wait in the Executive Lounge. No. We were politely told that's only allowed for registered guests.
We've been invited to wait (no need to ask) in numerous Asian, European, and Australian properties so we were a little surprised.
However, we saw the lounge on our previous visit and know we're not missing much, at least by the standards of overseas Hilton properties.
The lobby is quite pleasant once we found a place to sit.

Flying AS (Alaska)
We again enjoyed our flights today. Alaska First Class is very pleasant, and we appreciate the upgrades we've already received.
We could buy GoGo Internet for the flight but chose the Free wifi entertainment, using our own devices rather than the players they're issuing.
The 4 1/2 hours passed quickly and we're now headed for the free reception in the PHL airport Doubletree.

Philadelphia: Comcast Center
It was pleasing to see the result of our Comcast bills in part is to pay for the 18th largest building in the U.S., and the home of the largest LED screen to be found.

Philadelphia: What's Not to Like?
History on every corner, friendly locals, great big city walking, a large selection of restaurants... We're enjoying Philly!
Philadelphia: Independence Hall
This building was originally the Pennsylvania State House, headquarters of the colonial government. How amazing to stand in the very room where both the Declaration of Independence and (11 years later) the U.S. Constitution were signed. Our volunteer guide was terrific on this brief tour.
Philadelphia Doubletree
Very nice hotel... We thought we'd been checked into a fancy room, small but with two angled windows, until we looked at the architecture from outside.

The Liberty Bell
On display across the street from its original location in Philadelphia's Independence Hall belfry.
It's actually not as big as we'd always imagined but it's very impressive to see it in person.
