Lovo is the traditional Fijian barbecue. We got back from our walk and iced coffees in time to watch a key part of the preparation: banana leaves laid on hot rocks, the various meats and fish wrapped in non-traditional but practical aluminum foil placed on the leaves, and everything covered with more leaves and something like burlap cloths before dirt and rocks cover the whole mound.
