Bordighera: Lunch at Magiargè Vini e Cucina

When we discovered the restaurant our landlords recommended was closed due to illness ("malattia"), we immediately called on our Trip Advisor app. Aha! The Number Two-rated joint in all of Bordighera was only a few steps away.

We were given a warm and friendly welcome as we entered Magiargè. We only discovered later that Michelin has bestowed a knife and fork on it.

We chose the three-course Ligurian-influenced menu and didn't regret it: Stoccafisso Brandacujon (dried cod in puréed potatoes with parsley and garlic), Trofie Pasta Al Pesto, and a tuna steak, cooked beautifully rare.

We splurged on a shared chocolate mousse for dessert, and left the restaurant as full and happy as we have after any restaurant experience this trip. The ambience is charming, the service is excellent, the  food is delicious and beautifully presented, and the employees are incredibly friendly to foreign tourists lacking skills in Italian.

This place is a winner!
