The Home of the Schnitzel was full Saturday night and we barely squeezed in without a reservation around 4:15 on this Monday afternoon.
It was founded in 1905, and now operates six locations. The one at Wollzeile 5 is less than a 10-minute walk from our current hotel, the Hilton City Park.
Their menu is limited to only 13 main items (why mess with success after 112 years?) and features a classic Wiener Schnitzel, actually pork rather than veal, that covers the plate and then some.
With a couple of side salads and a glass each of Grüner Veltliner, we were served all that we could manage.
A friend from Flyertalk recommended we try this place - thanks, David!
