There we used our Opal Cards to catch a ferry for the 30-minute ride to Manly Beach.
We never get tired of gazing at the Sydney Opera House from all angles, including from the water.
The history of its construction holds many lessons: poor planning, massive cost overruns and delays, an architect who had to scramble to figure a way to build his design, etc. that it ended up being so iconic and one of the most recognizable shapes in the world is a minor miracle.
Sailboats we're out in full force today.
We made it to Manly, strolled for a bit, and decided to return as the skies darkened.
We sat on the starboard side returning so we could get a look at The Coathanger, the Aussie nickname for the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
By now it was raining, but we managed to catch a train to the Town Hall stop, and walk largely under cover back to the Hilton, where our room was waiting.
Next stop is Happy Hour.
