Kathy's New Friend at the Chongqing Zoo

We were looking for the tigers when a friendly woman attached herself to us and escorted us across the zoo to them.

She spoke extensively, and commented repeatedly on Kathy's height, reaching up to measure her. It was all in Chinese, of course. Perhaps she thought if she talked long enough, we would learn the language.

It didn't quite work out that way, but it was amusing as we looked for the Lǎohǔ together.

We never figured out why she was carrying a sword in a scabbard, and it would have complicated things further to try to find out, so it seemed prudent to ignore it.
