The Main-Danube Canal

Construction started in the 1960s and was finally finished in 1992. It goes through a “mountainous” area up to a thousand feet so we’ve amazingly gone both up and down in locks sailing in the same direction and passing through a watershed. The biggest locks are 80 feet high.
