Blane in Europe: Mannheim Technoseum

We spent a fair part of the day here. Other than a couple of school groups, it was not at all crowded.

It was a little more than a mile of walking, so we took a look at Mannheim’s famous water tower, built around 1869, on the way.

On the way, we also made a quick stop at the statue of Otto von Bismarck, the mastermind behind the unification of Germany in the late 1800s.

His statue could use a little tender loving care.

We found the Technoseum with little difficulty.

A lot to see and do. As the guidebooks warn, there isn’t too much written in English, and Kathy’s German came in handy.
