We navigated the Metro reasonably well. It appears that Rome escalators are on strike too, as at least half were not functioning.

Blane in Europe: Italo Rail 8904 Rome to Venice
We slept our final night at the Best Western Spring House, still a friendly hotel but way too hot at night in Room 345 on the top (fourth) floor. Breakfast was fairly early as we had to take two Metros to arrive at the Tiburtina train ststion.
We navigated the Metro reasonably well. It appears that Rome escalators are on strike too, as at least half were not functioning.
